Communitites

Communities are a great way to start finding the thematic groups you may wish to join and colleagues you can connect with to start building your professional network. The content is shared in real-time simply filtering materials using their tags. Communities are divided by functional community such as Communications, Information Management, Security, etc.

The Wire

The Wire is a microblogging platform within GCconnex, with a 250 characters limit similar to Twitter. You can share content for everyone to consult e.g. open events, announcements, images, gifs, etc. Although The Wire publishes content that is GCconnex-wide, sharing content on The Wire from a closed group means only group members within the group can view the content.

Career
Jobs Marketplace

The Jobs Marketplace is a public service-wide Internet forum within GCconnex that enables employees to network professionally across departments.

Opportunities Platform

The Opportunities Platform is a central location for public servants to apply to or post a variety of career development opportunities. Employees opt-in to various types of opportunities (micro-missions, mentoring, assignments, deployments, etc) and can post a call-out for applicants for a particular position or project within their team. Employees seeking to expand their career can search for particular opportunities or positions, and managers looking for new talent can post opportunities and invite potential candidates to apply.
